This series is a work in progress. After drawing post-it pigeon portraits for a few months, I found myself leaning in the opposite direction: What if I took some of these close-ups and let them get big? I like to go to the local lumber store and see what they’ve got in their scrap plywood bin, keeping the bird in mind. One of my intentions is to honor imperfections while taking care and making visible what we usually overlook or dismiss. In this series, I approach the subject and materials in that spirit.
