Pigeon on a Shelf

Hello! I’m happy to take a few moments from home-moving tasks to catch up with you.

First, the holiday auction to support Palomacy Pigeon & Dove Adoptions begins today, Friday, December 6, and continues through Friday, December 13. You can now visit the Pigeon on a Shelf auction site to view and bid on lots of fun items to support the birds!

The auction includes three of my 6 x 6 inch collaged image transfers. I listed them individually, not as a set, with an opening bid of $48. Clockwise from the top, they are Misty (Like Gold), Lucito (Kodachrome), and Baby Mo (“Hi!”).

The sides and backs are brightly painted and fitted with sawtooth hangers.

2024 Donation Report

On the topic of contributions and donations, I’d also like to share that, this year, those of you who purchased pigeon art directly from me contributed $1337 to pigeon rescue and adoption causes, much of which was matched to make it even more — plus $100 for squirrels! THANK YOU!

Palomacy’s newest rescues also say thank you for helping us . . .

Making Time for Care December

As I reported in my last post, my husband and I are in the thick of selling our home in California and moving to the Portland, Oregon area. There’s good news on that front: The perfect buyer found our home and loves it like we do. The sale closes in just a few days and we’ll be headed north on January 1!

In the midst of moving, I’ve carved out enough space and time to participate in my favorite art journal offering, Care December. Everything Art, based in the U.K., makes this loving day-by-day exploration available for free each year. This is the fourth year I’ve joined. If it interests you, it’s not too late to jump in and participate!

I hand-stitch a junk journal for this event. Here are my pages so far, starting with Day One: Salmon . . .

Day Two: Romance — not the sticky sweet kind, please, but how we can fall in love with life’s small and fleeting moments . . .

You might be noticing an overall theme. Each year, the hosts give us a “hero color” to work with. This year, it’s . . . PINK.

Day Three: Unconditional Love . . .

And here’s today’s page, Day Five: Cherry Blossoms . . .

January 2025 Giveaway!
